Slate hearth chip

We have had a brand (http://maplered.com) new slate hearth installed and (http://maplered.com) within one week accidentally dropped a heavy object on it which has caused a chip on the front corner.  Is there any way of repairing it, or at the very least of achieving the same shine on the chipped part?  It is currently a little duller and (http://maplered.com) therefore noticeable in certain lights.
